Modals + simple form and perfective

Modals +Simple Form:

 

1. Can/Could

- When I was a child I couldn't walk alone, but now I can 
 (using to ability kemampuan)
- Could you do me a favor? (using to polite remark)
- It could rain tomorrow = it will possibly rain tomorrow
(using to conditional/pengandaian) 

2. May/Might

- Sir, Why may I not go home earlier now whereas yesterday I might do it? (using to permission)
- She may come late because of the traffic jam (mungkin)
- Eventhough she is a rich girl she might not have money to buy a new car because she drives an old car (mungkin) 

Modals

Modals merupakan bagian dari auxiliary, modal yaitu sekelompok
kata bantu yang memberikan arti tambahan pada suatu kalimat dalam 

mempertajam makna. Modals selalu diikuti dengan kata kerja/verb
bentuk pertama dan juga to be(is/am/are) bentuk pertama.
